Veteran Aldeburgh Projectionist Honoured

Widely believed to be the oldest Cinema Projectionist in the country that’s still working, Aldeburgh’s Neville Parry has been honoured for his long-serving achievements.

Parry was granted lifetime honorary membership of the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts’ East Anglian Branch for serving at the Aldeburgh Cinema for over 40 years.

81 year old Parry’s career has spanned the reel-to-reel type of projection boxes as well as the more modern digital creations of the twenty first century, and he’s been working for Aldeburgh Cinema for the last 35 years. A documentary is soon to be launched by Suffolk College’s media department in order to record his stories of projection-work.
