One of Benjamin Britten’s lesser known operas, ‘Owen Wingrave’, is to be performed at this year’s Aldeburgh Festival.
To celebrate the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War, Britten’s anti-war opera ‘Owen Wingrave’ will star as the centrepiece at this year’s Aldeburgh Festival. Strongly pacifist in style and tone, it mirrors Britten’s own struggles as a conscientious objector to the Great War as it tells the tale of Owen Wingrave.
‘Owen Wingrave’ runs at the Aldeburgh Festival from June 13th to the 18th, and stars Susan Bullock alongside younger actors and actresses. For more information and to book tickets, see their website.
