Aldeburgh is looking forward to celebrate the arrival of the London 2012 Olympic Torch on Thursday 5th July next year.
Towns and villages all over Suffolk are being picked as lucky destinations for the Olympic flame to visit as it makes its long route to London for the start of the 2012 Olympic Games.
The Olympic torch route has been officially announced and it will take in 16 towns and villages in Suffolk.
Suffolk’s part of the Olympic torch journey will start at lovely Lowestoft on Thursday the 5th of July before it continues to make its way via Wrentham, Reydon, Southwold, Kelasle, Saxmundham & Aldeburgh before making its way through the rest of the county.
Sebastian Coe has said: “This is the UK’s moment to shine and I want to encourage people across Suffolk to start planning how they can be part of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and show their support for the inspirational torchbearers chosen to carry the Olympic flame as we count down to the start of the Olympic Games.”
