Come to the Aldeburgh Carnival 2011 for a great weekend trip!
This year will see the Aldeburgh carnival return in silver screen style. The annual carnival, that has run in the town of Aldeburgh for over 170 years, has a movie theme for 2011.
From 13th-15th August the Suffolk town will come together putting on the traditional Aldeburgh carnival, that includes endless activities that all the family can enjoy.
Come down and have a chance to see the colourful carnival parade, which is sure to feature movie greats.
Last years parade saw the Band of the Prince of Wales’ division march through the streets. Fans of military bands can come and enjoy an amazing counter march through Aldeburgh. Movie buffs may even have the chance of hearing their favourite theme tunes brought to life, in marching style!
To bring the glitz and glamour to the Aldeburgh carnival, the town also hosts a Chinese lantern procession and fireworks, guaranteed to bring a bang to the occasion.
As well as the main events there will be so much to choose from over the three days. From a lollipop hunt for the children, to a tug of war competition, anyone can come down and be part of the fun.
Competitions are endless across the Aldeburgh carnival, with locals competing for the best fancy dress to the most decorated house.
Taking a visit to Aldeburgh during the carnival will surely be a sight to remember.
