East Anglia is famous for its incredible food and top-quality livestock, and now a local sheep farmer and artist has capitalised on this with the creation of his new Alde Valley Lamb brand, which will be hitting supermarket shelves soon.
Jason Gathorne Hardy, of White House Farm, near Saxmundham, told the East Anglian Daily Times: “Partly through my drawing and also through food events I have got to know more of the livestock producers in the Alde Valley and East Suffolk area.”
“I think Suffolk is remarkable for the integrity of its food supply chains – in the sense that they are full of very dedicated, creative and efficient individuals and that the supply chains are also exceptionally intact.”
The brand exclusively uses lambs bred and raised at White House Farm and Great Glemham Farms in Great Glemham. There, they graze on the beautiful grass of the water-meadow and are given the best feed and care to ensure that the meat is of the highest quality.
